Adelaide has made three changes ahead of its Round Two match against Richmond on Saturday.
New recruit Amber Ward will make her Club debut after arriving at the Crows’ nest from West Coast during the Sign and Trade Period in June.
Young forward Brooke Tonon and utility Zoe Prowse round out the inclusions.
Ward made her AFLW debut with the Eagles in 2021 and played 14 games across the past two seasons, before returning home to Adelaide.
Crows AFLW Senior Coach Matthew Clarke said Ward had worked hard since arriving at the Club and would add versatility to the side.
“Amber Ward will come in for her first game for the Club, which is really exciting,” Clarke said.
“She’s a South Australian girl originally and that’ll essentially give us another tall defender.
“That will allow us to play some of our other players in different positions as well.
“Any time someone debuts for the Club it’s really exciting.
“She’s a really great person and a great talent as well.”
Tonon, meanwhile, was selected by the Crows at Pick No.20 at the 2021 AFLW Draft and made her debut in Round Seven last season.
Prowse, a versatile tall, was picked at the same draft and debuted in Round 10 of Season Six.
Niamh Kelly, Najwa Allen and Montana McKinnon have been omitted.
Clarke was confident the Crows would bounce back from their Round One loss but expected it to be a tough battle.
“Our contest method (last week) was the piece which we didn’t quite get right, so we’ve trained that a little bit more and hopefully we can see a response,” Clarke said.
“They've got a really high-end midfield with Monique Conti, Ellie McKenzie, and both the Hosking’s (Sarah and Jess), so that’s going to be a big challenge.
“But fortunately we’ve got some pretty good ones as well… We feel as though our midfield stacks up pretty well and we’ll hold up OK.”
Adelaide takes on Richmond for the first time at Punt Road Oval on Saturday, with the first bounce at 11.10am (ACST).
