Crows forward Shane McAdam has been cleared of significant damage to his ankle but faces a fitness test before selection to take on Melbourne this weekend.

The 27-year-old rolled his left ankle in the final quarter of Sunday’s win over North Melbourne in Hobart and took no further part in the game.

Scans on Monday cleared him of any structural damage but he is working through some swelling and discomfort.

“He’s had a scan which hasn’t shown any major damage, it’s just a decent ankle roll and we’ll give him every chance to get up for the game against the Dees,” High Performance Manager Darren Burgess said.

“We’re hoping that he will be able to run straight line (on Wednesday) and train later in the week but that depends on how the ankle presents.”

Defender Will Hamill sustained a concussion in the third quarter of the win over the Kangaroos and will miss this weekend’s clash while in the AFL’s concussion protocol.

“Will is back in at the Club and he’s presented really well so we are confident there will be no issues going through those protocols,” Burgess said.

Luke Pedlar missed Saturday’s SANFL win over South Adelaide with an adductor strain and will be tested this week.

“We thought he’d be OK with it but he didn’t manage to get up for the game, so he’ll be a test this week, hopefully he can train tomorrow and see how he goes,” Burgess said.

Riley Thilthorpe missed the weekend’s action after rolling his ankle against Gold Coast in Round 14, but has recovered and is expected to be available for selection this week alongside mid-season recruit Brett Turner who could make his Club debut against his former team Glenelg on Saturday.
