Emerging Adelaide forward Lachlan Gollant has signed a two-year contract extension to remain with the Club until at least 2024.
Having worked hard on his game since being drafted in 2019, Gollant shapes as an exciting part of the Crows’ future after debuting in Round 23 last year.
The 20-year-old has played seven AFL games this season, kicking seven goals including four in the Round Three Showdown win over Port Adelaide.
Adelaide General Manager List Management and Strategy Justin Reid said Gollant’s attributes made him a valuable part of the Club’s young and developing forward line.
“Lachy has shown he is an exciting forward who jumps at the footy, can take a contested mark and is a proficient shot at goal,” Reid said.
“The pandemic meant he had very limited opportunities to play in 2020 and last year he had to overcome early-season finger surgery but eventually demanded his AFL debut through strong performances in the SANFL.
“He has worked hard to add size and strength to his frame and this year has shown he is capable of performing at the level so we look forward to him building on that.”
Gollant said the new deal gave him confidence while he continued to work on his game.
“I’m thankful of the Club for having faith in me, the security provides me with a good opportunity to continue to improve my game and hopefully push for selection again soon,” he said.
“I’ve felt very comfortable since moving to Adelaide, I love the city and its people, and the culture we are building as a Club is a good one so I look forward to contributing to that in the future.”
