The entire Crows playing squad got behind the Ultimate Pie Challenge after training on Friday.
The Ultimate Pie Challenge is a fundraising initiative of Crows Children’s Foundation charity partner, the Childhood Cancer Association. Led by captain Taylor Walker, the players took turns smearing plates of whipped cream into each other's faces!
'Tex' also saved an extra plate for coach Don Pyke, who received two servings. After completing the challenge, the skipper nominated Adelaide Ambassadors Patty Mills, Guy Sebastian and Sam Willoughby to step up to the paper plate. The players also donated to the cause as part of the challenge.
The Crows playing group is passionate about supporting children with cancer and visit the Women’s and Children’s hospital fortnightly throughout the season.
In 2016, the Crows Children’s Foundation has donated $21,900 to the Childhood Cancer Association to fund the annual operating costs of two family units, used by families who need to relocate to the city whilst their child is undergoing cancer treatment.
The Foundation will also support Autism Spectrum Australia with a $50,000 donation to establish the state’s only school for children with autism and ,$18,000 to fund a pilot ‘hip hop’ dance program for ‘at risk’ youth in Mount Barker.
