The Crows will head into Saturday’s Community Series clash against Port Adelaide with a group of experienced names returning to the side.

Leadership trio Rory Sloane, Brodie Smith and Tom Doedee all return to the team to face the Power, alongside forwards Elliott Himmelberg and Lachie Gollant.

“From a competitive point of view around the footy, with a different team and being able to train properly with the full list is massive for such a young group,” Assistant coach James Rahilly said on Friday.

“There will be a few (coming back into the side) - Elliot (Himmelberg), Lachie Gollant - all the COVID protocol guys will be back in this week.

“It will be a different and more experienced team than last week.”

Matt Crouch and Mitch Hinge will again line up for the side following an extended stint on the sidelines due to injury.

So too will youngsters Josh Rachele and Jake Soligo.

Rahilly said Rachele and Soligo had impressed with their contributions in the Lions game, with the former booting three goals.

“I love (Rachele’s) mindset… he’s confident in his ability which brings others around him and makes them better,” Rahilly said.

“Jake will also stay in the team… he’s a really flexible player and looks pretty much ready to go.

“Everything you throw at (Soligo) he seems to excel at.”

Wayne Milera will play in the Crows’ SANFL side on Saturday to ease his return to AFL level.

“Junior’s going to play a full game in the SANFL tomorrow… he missed a little bit with COVID protocols so it was decided the best thing for him was to have a full game in the SANFL,” Rahilly said.

“From all we’ve seen at training everyone’s really looking forward to him getting back in the team.”

Shane McAdam will be unavailable for selection due to adductor soreness, while Jordan Dawson will miss the game with calf soreness.

Adelaide takes on Port Adelaide at Richmond Oval on Saturday, March 5, with first bounce at 3.40pm.
