Adelaide forward Riley Thilthorpe is hard at work in pre-season among a gaggle of new recruits at West Lakes.
The former No. 2 pick, Thilthorpe has already identified several standout draftees as he returns to the Club for his second season.
Rookie Draft selection Luke Nankervis sprung to mind when questioned for Adelaide’s No. 7.
“The new boys have come in seamlessly and are training the house down,” Thilthorpe said.
“Luke is certainly one for me who has stood out. He has stood up really well and impressed us all at training.”
Alongside Nankervis, Josh Rachele also grabbed Thilthorpe’s attention.
“Whether it’s weights or on the field, Rachele is killing it,” he said.
“It will be great to see him go at it this year.
“Hopefully a couple of the new boys, whoever they are, can get a game in Round One.”
Thilthorpe, an avid worker on the track, has also revelled in the addition of High Performance Manager Darren Burgess.
Since arriving from Melbourne in the offseason, Burgess has been putting the players through their paces - much to the delight of Thilthorpe.
“We were fit already, but he’s just a whole extra level… it’s making us all better,” Thilthorpe said.
“We love him… he’s got so much knowledge and we are so lucky he’s here.”
