Adelaide’s AFLW team will play five home games at Norwood next year with the Club looking to make the most of the family-friendly atmosphere at the suburban ground.
The AFL on Thursday revealed its 2022 AFLW fixture and the Crows will open their season on the road against Fremantle in Perth on Saturday, January 8.
Adelaide will play in front of a home crowd in Round Two against North Melbourne at Norwood on Sunday, January 16, at 2.40pm.
The Crows will then return to Perth in Round Three to face West Coast on Sunday January 23, as the League continues to navigate Western Australia border controls and COVID-19 protocols.
In Round Four, the Club will host Melbourne with the Demons playing in Adelaide for the first time during a home and away season, on Saturday, January 29.
The Western Bulldogs come to town on Sunday, February 13, while another highlight is the Grand Final rematch against Brisbane during Indigenous Round at Norwood on Sunday, February 27 at 2.40pm.
A bumper crowd is also expected for the fifth and final home game of the season against Collingwood, with the date and time set to be released later.
The schedule for Round 10 of the 2022 AFLW season will be released in the coming days as part of a bigger League announcement.
Crows CEO Tim Silvers said the team had winning form at Norwood, having lost just one of its home matches at the venue last season.
“We are obviously determined to create an era of sustained on-field success but just as importantly, we want to continue to grow the women’s game here in this State,” Silvers said.
“Having five home games in family-friendly time slots is a great start and we hope to see footy supporters of all ages turning up and getting behind Matthew Clarke, Chelsea Randall and the team.
“We have always aspired to be the club of choice for women and young girls who want to pursue a career as a player, coach, administrator or even enjoy our great game as a fan.
“So it is exciting to see that our AFLW membership tally is well ahead of the same time last year and I encourage all Crows fans to sign up and make this a record breaking season.
“Our squad has a mix of youth and experience and with the competition as a whole set to improve again, the coaches and players know we must take our game to another level.”
