Adelaide defender Brodie Smith broke a 15-year-old stat record at West Lakes in 2021.
The 29-year-old notched 138 defensive rebounds in 21 games for the Crows this season, surpassing former stat-leader Graham Johncock.
Even more impressive, Smith achieved the record in three fewer games - Johncock played 24 matches in 2006 and tallied 129 rebounds.
Smith also overtook close mate Rory Laird who, before moving to the midfield, accrued 116 rebounds across 24 games in 2017.
The Adelaide No. 33 now has five of the top 20 rebound seasons for the Club - the most of any Crow past or present.
Away from rebounds, Smith also excelled in total metres gained for the Crows in 2021.
He finished fourth in the league for metres gained per match - 616.1m - behind Jack Lukosius (Gold Coast), Daniel Rich (Brisbane) and Aaron Hall (North Melbourne).
Smith also edged-out teammate Paul Seedsman, who finished fifth with 606.2m gained per match.
Earlier this year, Smith signed a three-year extension, ensuring he would remain at the Crows until at least the end of 2024.
“I absolutely love this footy club and I’m so happy to be signing on for another three years,” Smith said at the time.
“We’re building a really strong culture here and it’s exciting to see how quickly our younger guys are developing and driving the standards, pushing all of us to get better every single day.
“I can’t wait to see their continued growth this year and play my part in helping them to improve wherever I can.”
