Tom Doedee is not only one of Adelaide’s most reliable intercept defenders but he’s also the Club’s fastest AFL player, according to the AFL’s Telstra Tracker data.
Doedee, 24, was clocked at a speed of 34.31km/h this past season.
The backman featured in 21 games and was ranked elite in the competition with disposals, collecting an average of 16.6, above average in intercept marks (2.9) and above average in spoils (5.9).
According to the Telstra Tracker, Lachlan Murphy was the Crows’ second fastest with a speed of 34.09km/h, followed by Will Hamill (33.70), Ben Davis (33.66) and Chayce Jones (33.01).
Murphy played 15 matches in 2021 but his campaign was hampered by a right ankle syndesmosis injury.
Hamill lined up in 17 games and enjoyed a solid performance against Hawthorn in Round Six, in which he amassed 16 disposals.
Davis played four matches and averaged 8.8 disposals.
Jones transitioned from the midfield to defence this season and averaged 12.4 disposal from 15 games.
He performed strongly against Port Adelaide in the Round 21 Showdown after recording nine intercepts.
