A groin injury limited the speedy forward to seven AFL games, but he showed enough to earn a new two-year contract and promotion to Adelaide’s primary list for Season 2015. The fierce-tackling forward finished the year with 24 tackles, six score assists and nine goals including a career-best three goals in the first half against Fremantle at Patersons Stadium. Cameron’s promising season saw him receive the Mark Bickley Award for Emerging Talent.Season by Season After playing seven games in 2014, Cameron all but cemented his spot in Adelaide’s starting lineup in his second season at the Club. The speedster developed a lethal combination with mentor and fellow livewire Eddie Betts to terrorise opposition defenders. Cameron played 22 games for 29 goals to go with 17 goal assists. His best return was a four-goal performance in the Round 17 win versus Gold Coast. Cameron received a NAB AFL Rising Star nomination for his three-goal effort in Round 13. He also featured in arguably the Club’s season highlight when he kicked the match-winning goal in Adelaide's nailbiting Elimination Final.Season by Season Adelaide’s first selection in the Rookie Draft, Cameron is a fierce-tackling forward with excellent speed and good skills on either side of his body. Still raw in football terms, the exciting goalkicker played senior football for Swan Districts in 2013 and was also selected to represent West Australia at the Under-18 National Championships, where he averaged 17 pressure acts a game – ranked 7th across all the competition. A strong trainer and good overhead mark, Cameron adds another dimension to the Crows attack. One of Adelaide’s most improved players, Cameron started the season in the SANFL after pre-season knee surgery, but forced his way into the senior side by Round Five and played every game thereafter. Cameron used his pace to great effect up forward, on a wing and even in the midfield late in the season. Kicked 20 goals and finished second at the Club for average metres gained per disposal. Streamed through the middle of the ground and was one of Adelaide’s best in the Semi-Final loss to Sydney. Shared the Crows Children’s Foundation Community Leadership Award with Kyle Hartigan for his work off the field. Targeting more midfield minutes in Season 2017.
