Robe local Jordan Dawson joined the Crows as a free agent at the end of the 2021 season. Prior to returning to the Club he supported growing up, Dawson was selected by Sydney with pick No.56 at the 2015 AFL National Draft. He spent spent six years at the Swans, finishing third in their best and fairest in 2021. Dawson chose to return home to South Australia after his sixth season in Sydney and nominated Adelaide as his preferred choice. The utility has a booming left foot and can be used on the wing, up forward or in defence. Dawson finished second in the Crows' 2022 Club Champion count, four point behind winner, Rory Laird. Dawson became Adelaide's Captain ahead of the 2023 AFL season and capped an incredible first year as Skipper by claiming an inaugural Malcolm Blight Medal. Dawson’s career-best season in 2023 coincided with his permanent move into the midfield, which led to him averaging 27 disposals, three clearances and six tackles a game. It also helped him claim All-Australian honours for the first time. Dawson followed on from his 2023 form in 2024, playing 22 games, averaging 24.5 disposals and 6.1 tackles. He claimed a back-to-back Club Champion award, sharing the Club's highest individual honour in 2024 with Ben Keays.
