In the lead-up to the Adelaide Football Club’s last-ever game at AAMI Stadium on Saturday, afc.com.au is taking you for a trip down memory lane. As part of our Farewell to Footy Park, we’ll highlight some of the most memorable games and moments at the ground over the past 23 years.

Today, dual Crows premiership player Matthew Robran recalls some of his favourite memories …

"Darren Jarman is an absolute legend of the game. I was fortunate to play alongside him and he certainly provided many thrills to everyone at AAMI Stadium. There’s one moment in particular that sticks in my mind. We played the Sydney Swans here early in the 1997 season and I think we ended up winning by 15 goals that day. Darren took a mark out on the Members’ Wing. He took a couple of bounces and was looking like he was going to shoot for goal, but he sold some fantastic candy to Paul Roos, who was a wonderful defender. Darren took another one or two bounces and then slotted through a pretty easy goal in the end. I just loved the skill and composure to evade one of the best backman in the game and finish off with a goal.

"Some other great memories are of Showdown games. I was lucky enough to play in a few, but the one that stands out was Showdown VII in 2000. Port got the jump on us early and looked like they were going to run away with a pretty comfortable win. They were seven goals up halfway through the third quarter, but we worked our way back into the game through Mark Ricciuto, who finished the game with 41 possessions and 4.0. Andrew McLeod kicked a brilliant goal in the last quarter. Bunji evaded a couple of Port players and then showed poise and balance to kick a left-foot goal. His goal put us seven points ahead and that was the final margin. Any win (especially against Port) is a good win, but to come from so far behind was pretty special. It’s a moment I’ll always remember."
