Adelaide Senior Coach Matthew Nicks is expecting Carlton to “come out breathing fire” when the two sides clash at Marvel Stadium on Sunday.
The Blues suffered a loss to GWS last week and have had the pressure heaped on them ahead of the Round 15 battle against the Crows.
Speaking on Friday, Nicks said his side would be focused on bringing a four-quarter effort against Carlton.
“They are a very, very good side if they are allowed to play their style,” Nicks said.
“We know they’ll come out breathing fire at the start of this game (and) we take that challenge seriously.
“The area that we are working on at the moment is our ability to hold that composure for four quarters.”
Nicks said players were looking forward to travelling and away games helped bring the group closer.
“It’s going to be great for our young group to go over to Melbourne again,” Nicks said.
“(It’s) another challenge where we go to an away venue and we need to perform right from the outset.
“Our guys are really looking forward to it.”
Sunday’s game will commence at 3.40pm ACST (4.10pm local).
The match will be shown live on Channel 7 in Adelaide and nationwide on Fox Footy.
