A strong first quarter and late-game push weren't enough for the Crows to hold on to a win over the Tigers, with Richmond digging deep on the way to a 17.9 (111) to 12.11 (83) win at Giants Stadium.
The Crows kicked five of the first six goals of the game, but the Tigers turned things around with 13 of the next 16 to lead by 33 points at three-quarter time.
On-fire veteran Taylor Walker looked like owning the contest early but went missing as Richmond took control, however, when he slotted his fourth to open the final term, quickly followed by one from James Rowe, a comeback was on the cards.
Another couple of majors and Adelaide was within eight points, but then Jack Riewoldt (five goals) stood up, first with an amazing mark and goal followed by two more conventional efforts to give his side the win.
Returning stars Trent Cotchin, Dion Prestia and Shai Bolton lifted the Tigers' midfield, while young hyphenated duo Riley Collier-Dawkins and Callum Coleman-Jones (four goals) were as impressive as any.
Walker was the Crows' best, well supported by fellow veterans Rory Sloane and Rory Laird, but the efforts all around the ground from younger teammates was again outstanding.
