Adelaide’s Head of Performance Matt Hass is departing the Club after accepting a role with the Queensland Academy of Sport.
Hass, who has been at the Crows for the last five seasons, is returning to his home State to oversee the physical performance of Olympic-bound athletes.
Crows Head of Football Adam Kelly thanked Hass for his dedication and efforts, with his most recent focus being on fast-tracking the physical development of the youngest playing list in the AFL.
“Matt is a highly respected member of the football department who has forged a strong rapport with players past and present, as well as our coaches and administration staff,” Kelly said.
“His knowledge and expertise have been invaluable and very few people are more committed to their job and helping others.
“We congratulate Matt, and wish he, Anna and their children the very best for the future, they will always be part of the Crows family.”
Hass said he was looking forward to a fresh professional challenge, particularly working with athletes from across a range of sports.
“My family and I have really enjoyed our time at the Crows, as well as the city of Adelaide itself, and formed some lifelong friendships,” Hass said.
He will finish at the Club at the mid-season bye, with Sports Science and Conditioning Coordinator Jarryd Wallace stepping into the senior role on an interim basis.
Wallace has a breadth of experience, having worked in Adelaide’s high performance department for close to a decade.
The Club will assess its future needs before making the appointment of a high performance leader.
