Adelaide will give trio Jake Kelly, Shane McAdam and Brodie Smith every chance to recover for the Crows’ Round Five clash with Fremantle on Sunday.

Smith and McAdam pulled up after Sunday’s win over North Melbourne with a knee and shoulder concern, respectively.

“We’ve got a bit going on,” senior coach Matthew Nicks told the media on thursday.

“We rested Smithers (Smith) for the main session… I’m confident he’ll play.

“This is just about making sure that knee is strong. He’ll do the work in the Captain’s run.

“Confident Shane will play as well, it’s an SC joint (shoulder) that is getting better day-by-day.”

Kelly reported some calf tightness in training on Thursday and will be sent for a scan.

“Out of the session, we’ve now got Jake Kelly pulled up with a little bit of tightness in the calf,” Nicks said.

“There’s no risk around calves these days, we’ll send him for a quick scan and hopefully we get a good result out of that as well.”

Taylor Walker was managed at training but Nicks was “confident he’ll be fine to play”.

“There will be a time when we manage the more experienced players,” Nicks said.

“At the moment the management (for Walker) was done for a main training session.

“And like everyone, you get a month in the season and players get sore.

“We’re just keeping an eye on the group.”
