Adelaide forward Eddie Betts will be sidelined for a month due to injury.
Betts came off the ground late in the match against Hawthorn after hurting himself while trying to smother an opponent’s kick and scans have since revealed a hamstring strain.
Crows Head of Football Brett Burton said Betts would immediately embark on an intensive rehabilitation program.
“Eddie has suffered a slight strain to the tendon which equates to a recovery period of approximately four weeks,” Burton said.
“Obviously it is disappointing to be missing a player of his ability but it creates an opportunity for others to step up and perform.”
Ruckman Reilly O’Brien will also undergo shoulder surgery later this week, ruling him out for the remainder of the season.
“Reilly has been battling a shoulder problem for some time but it has reached a point where he is no longer able to back up from week to week and reconstructive surgery is the best option, “ Burton said.
Defender Luke Brown is continuing his rehabilitation from an ankle injury, while it is anticipated Rory Sloane, Rory Laird and Tom Lynch will be available for the Club’s next match against West Coast in Round 15.
