Adelaide midfielder Paul Seedsman has heaped praise on 19-year-old Harry Schoenberg following his debut season for the Club.
Schoenberg played eight games in his first season at West Lakes and quickly impressed the coaches and senior players.
“One bloke, Harry Schoenberg, I think he showed a lot last year when he came into the team,” Seedsman said.
“This year, his body composition has changed. He’s fitter, he’s leaner… I think he’s a pretty special kid.
“He’s someone I hope we see more of - a powerful unit and an exciting player to watch.”
As one of Adelaide’s more senior players, following the Club’s off-season moves to rejuvenate its list, Seedsman revealed a focus on helping the next generation.
“There’s less and less blokes in the older bracket, I have to step up there,” he said.
“Blokes like Harry, Will Hamill, Andy McPherson, Lachie Sholl just to name a few… you get a kick out of seeing them do well.
“I enjoy working with the younger fellas.”
Personally, Seedsman has put the work in to vie for a spot in coach Matthew Nicks’ best 22 come Round One.
“Last year didn’t work out the way I wanted to, on a personal level or a team level,” Seedsman said.
“I didn’t play the last few games of the year for the first time in a long time… that stuck with me in the offseason.
“I’ve been putting the work in and it’s been made clear with Nicksy in where I sit in his plans.”
