Adelaide defender Wayne Milera Junior could be set for a switch to the midfield.
In the six weeks since pre-season kicked off, the 23-year-old has been training with the Club’s midfielders under the tutelage of new assistant coach Nathan van Berlo.
Milera said his long-term future was likely away from defence.
“I’m training with the midfield group at the moment,” Milera told AFC Media.
“It’s where I want to play down the track and I feel I can add a lot to that group.
“I like playing off half-back, but as an AFL footballer you need to be able to play in a few places.
“I want to be in the thick of things, that’s where footy games are won and lost.”
Milera missed the majority of Season 2020 due to a stress fracture in his foot.
With two months to go until the 2021 season commences, Milera assured he would be raring to go.
“The foot is feeling really good,” he said.
“I’m just excited to play again, to get around some of the young talents we have coming through the Club.
“Players like Will Hamill, who came in and played off half-back, Lachie Sholl, Harry Schoenberg… Shane McAdam of course.
“It was disappointing not to play with them last year, but I really want to get my body right and play all 22 games alongside them in 2021.”
