Adelaide will receive a future-fourth round selection for defender Kyle Hartigan after a trade deal was finalised with Hawthorn on Thursday morning.
Hartigan, 28, was an unrestricted free agent and played 113 AFL games for the Crows after being selected as a mature-age player in the 2012 rookie draft.
Crows General Manager List Management and Strategy Justin Reid said Hartigan would always be welcome back at West Lakes.
“Kyle is the consummate team man, respected and liked by everyone at the football club and will always be a part of the Crows family,” Reid said.
“On-field, he has always played his role and to the team structures, while off-field he has achieved some tremendous things through his work with the Adelaide Crows Foundation.
“We wish Kyle, Emily and Hazel all the very best for the future.”
