Fremantle could call upon experience for Sunday’s clash with Adelaide at Domain Stadium.
Veterans Matt de Boer and Tendai Mzungu led the way for Peel Thunder in the team’s 36-point WAFL victory over East Perth last weekend and may make their way back into the senior side.
De Boer won a match-high 38 possessions and nine clearances, while Mzungu collected 36 disposals, 11 marks and kicked a goal. The pair has played just eight AFL games between them in Season 2016.
Clancee Pearce, 25, was also among Peel’s best with 26 disposals and nine marks, while Anthony Morabito also amassed 26 possessions and recorded a game-high five rebound 50ms.
Fremantle also has several tall options in solid WAFL form should Dockers coach Ross Lyon choose to try and stretch Adelaide’s defence on Sunday.
Young forward Matthew Taberner responded after being left out of the senior side with 23 possessions, eight marks and two goals and fellow tall Jack Hannath also impressed with 18 possessions, six marks, four inside 50ms and two goals of his own.
It’s likely that overall team balance may prevent the towering pair’s inclusion however, unless the Dockers omit one of Michael Apeness (200cm), Zac Clarke (203cm) and the returning Aaron Sandilands (211cm) from the senior side.
Youngster Connor Blakely could also be in the mix to return against the Crows. The 20-year-old impressed in a tagging role opposed to West Coast listed player Patrick McGinnity in the WAFL last weekend.
Cam Sutcliffe was held over as an emergency after being omitted but could be immediately recalled.
