Adelaide has now won three consecutive games against Geelong for the first time in 15 years. The Crows last won four in a row against the Cats in 2001-2003.

The Crows passed the 100-point mark for the fifth time in 2018 and first time since Round 7.

Rory Laird again posted career-best numbers this season with 43 disposals and 28 handballs. It was the third time the half-back recorded 40+ disposals in 2018, and fourth time in his career.

He and Hawthorn’s Tom Mitchell posted equal Round 17 bests, with 43 disposals and 28 handballs each.

Of any player on ground more than 100 minutes during the round, Laird averaged the most disposals a minute with 2.7.

There was also a career-best for Kyle Cheney. In his fourth game of the season the former Demon & Hawk notched 10 marks, beating his previous best of nine.

Adelaide’s forward line was on fire as Tom Lynch kicked four goals for the first time since September 10, 2016. On that occasion he helped Adelaide to a 62-point win over North Melbourne in the elimination final.

Josh Jenkins kicked a goal in his 10^th consecutive match.

Rising up the ranks, Eddie Betts kicked his 264^th goal for the Crows, in his 105^th game for the club. He is now equal sixth alongside Brett Burton and Darren Jarman who reached the total in 177 and 121 games respectively.

The Crows had the fourth most disposals (410) and uncontested possessions (264) for the round. Geelong ranked 12^th(381) and 15^th (218) in each category.

Adelaide also impressed with the fewest clanger kicks with just 12 while Geelong was clean enough and ranked 13^th with 23. Port Adelaide led all with 36 against Fremantle.

While Adelaide had a Round 17 low of 27 clearances, Geelong had a round-high 54. Rory Sloane had nearly a third of Adelaide’s clearances with eight.
