Experienced defender Daniel Talia has been ruled out of Sunday’s clash with Carlton.
Talia was set to play game No.200, but will be managed following a short five-day turnaround between games.
Crows Head of Science and Medicine Steve Saunders said Talia is expected to return to face Richmond in Round 18.
“Daniel has pulled up with a knee effusion that is unlikely to recover in five days, so he’s unavailable to play this weekend,” Saunders said.
“He should be fine for next week, which is his 200th game.
“Daniel is frustrated because he just loves playing and supporting the team, but he understands that, given the amount of swelling, it’s better to set him for next week.”
Key forward Taylor Walker will face a fitness test before Sunday’s game after suffering a knock to his lower leg against Greater Western Sydney on Tuesday
“Taylor has a medial ligament sprain of the right ankle, and we’ll be watching that really closely throughout the week,” Saunders said.
“It happened early in the game (against the Giants), and he was pretty much unimpeded by the ankle sprain during the game.
“The ankle pulled up sore the following day, so we’ll need to keep an eye on it.
“We’ll do a test with Taylor on Saturday to determine if he’s right to play.”
Tom Lynch will be available for selection for the first time since Round 11 against Collingwood.
Ben Davis, however, is uncertain to return in 2020.
“Ben is going well, we’ve started running with him,” Saunders said.
“He’s responding well to those running doses, but we’ll need to graduate it slowly.
“Based on his current level of progress, we don’t think Ben will be able to play for the remainder of the year.”
