Crows midfielder Rory Laird has claimed maximum votes from the coaches in Adelaide’s 12-point win over Greater Western Sydney on Tuesday.
Laird was recognised by Matthew Nicks and Leon Cameron as the best player on the ground, with the 26-year-old continuing his stellar form in Adelaide’s engine room.
He was pivotal in his side’s midfield dominance, collecting 28 disposals, 18 contested possessions, nine tackles and a game-high 11 clearances including six centre clearances, more than double the next best (Tim Taranto with five).
Laird’s Round 16 performance is his second best-on-ground this season after topping the votes in the Round 11 loss to Collingwood.
Fellow midfielder Matt Crouch earned eight votes against the Giants, with his defensive work again a standout, finishing with 12 tackles to go with 27 disposals and a crucial goal.
Exciting forward Shane McAdam (five votes) polled for a second straight week following an energetic performance that included 14 disposals, seven marks, five tackles and two goals.
Midfielder Brad Crouch (three votes), re-signed forward Elliott Himmelberg (two votes) and Giants defender Lachie Whitfield (two votes) rounded out the votes for Round 16.
