The past, present and future of the Crows came together at Adelaide Oval on Wednesday night.
An initiative of late Senior Coach Phil Walsh, past players and their families were invited to the Club’s closed main training session. About 50 kids (and parents) enjoyed a sausage sizzle and kick on the ground, and then ventured into the change rooms for autographs and photos with their favourite players. A few current Crows also brought their children along to join in the fun.
Board member and representative of the Adelaide Football Club’s Past Players and Officials Committee, Rod Jameson, whose own children were in attendance, said the night had been a success.
“It was an initiative that Phil Walsh wanted to include at the football club, and to have as many children around. So, it was a great opportunity to bring them here and have a run around on Adelaide Oval,” Jameson said.
“Our Club now is 25 years old, if we can engage all of our people, and that includes immediate family and certainly our children, that’s what we’re about. The current group are really keen to engage too.
“We’ll keep putting these initiatives in place and inviting everyone.”
