Crows defender Rory Laird has received a Goal of the Year nomination for his right-foot banana against North Melbourne on Saturday.
From a throw-in deep inside Adelaide’s forward 50, Laird eluded his direct opponent in Jed Anderson to collect the footy in the right forward pocket and snap truly from an acute angle.
The third-quarter goal was instantly labelled “goal of the afternoon” by Fox Footy commentator Dwayne Russell.
Jeremy Cameron (Greater Western Sydney) and Dustin Martin (Richmond) have also been nominated in Round 10.
Laird will be looking to follow in the footsteps of Brodie Smith, who claimed Goal of the Week honours in Round Six.
