Adelaide suffered a heart-breaking loss against top-placed North Melbourne last round, falling to the Roos by a paltry 19 points.
The Fantasy Crows battled bravely with one less player than the Kangaroos in the first bye round of the season, but went down 1185 to 1166 in a lean week for both sides.
It was a great coaching call by The 19th Man to hand young Bulldog Tom Liberatore the captaincy for Round Eight. A monster score of 146 Fantasy points (doubled to 292) almost lifted us over the line single-handedly. The Western Bulldogs have the bye this weekend however, so we need your help to decide who will be our Fantasy captain for Round Nine.
Unusually low scores from Matt Suckling (57), Jared Polec (64) and Shaun Higgins (59) hurt us last round, but we will back the trio to bounce back for now. The long-awaited return of Patrick Ambrose (41) was a bonus for us as the young Bomber added $20k to our Fantasy coffers. Ambrose should continue to bank more money for our side if he can hold his spot at Windy Hill.
After the chaos of last weekend, the Fantasy Crows should field a full side this week against West Coast. The Eagles only have one win for the season and look vulnerable again this week, with many fringe players on the bench and others to miss due to the Round Nine bye.
Nevertheless, we should continue working to improve our side while keeping an eye on next week’s final bye round.
Charlie Cameron’s elevation to Adelaide’s senior list brings him into contention for a spot up forward in our Fantasy team. The exciting 19-year-old is a bargain at $115,200 and could provide better bang for our buck than Geelong’s Lincoln McCarthy, who continues to tease Fantasy fans with his slow comeback from a troublesome back injury.
Cameron has been in great form for Adelaide in the SANFL this season, but as always, it is up to The 19th Man to make the final call and decide whether we bring ‘Jets’ in.
South Australian James Aish could be on the trade table. The young Lion has served us well in 2014, stockpiling almost $120k since the start of the season. However, Brisbane has the Round Ten bye and Aish’s value has begun to plateau. There are no obvious replacements for Aish from the six sides that encountered the bye last week, so it might be in our best interests to hold him for another round.
It’s your call, 19th Man. View our side below and vote now.
