Stats that matter
The Suns have won two of their past three games, but haven’t tasted victory outside of Queensland in 2012. Adelaide has only lost one game at AAMI Stadium this season, against Collingwood in round nine.

Taylor Walker’s game against Melbourne was statistically the best of his career so far. Walker amassed a career-high number of disposals (25 - 11 contested), kicks (17) and marks (16 - six contested). He also kicked 4.2 and had three score assists in a massive day out.

Walker has kicked four goals in each of his past four games. Remarkably, his score of 4.2 against the Demons was exactly the same as his returns against Brisbane (4.2) and Fremantle (4.2) in the previous two games.

Skipper Gary Ablett leads Gold Coast in total disposals with 650 - 148 more than the next-best Suns player, Harley Bennell (502). Bennell currently tops the Club’s goalkicking (25). Ablett has kicked 24 goals this season.

Adelaide’s win over Melbourne last weekend was the Club’s first victory at the MCG since beating Hawthorn at the venue in Round 20, 2009.

Michael Doughty will play his 228th senior game this week, drawing level with Russell Robertson in sixth spot for the most games by any player who has originally come from an AFL rookie list. The most games by former rookie list players are James McDonald (263 games, 1997 Rookie Draft), Stephen Milne (257 games, 2000 Rookie Draft), Brett Kirk (241 games, 1999 Rookie Draft), Dean Cox (248 games, 2000 Rookie Draft), Mal Michael (238 games, 1997 Rookie Draft), Russell Robertson (228 games, 1997 Rookie Draft), Michael Doughty (227 games, 2000 Rookie Draft), Tarkyn Lockyer (227 games, 1998 Rookie Draft), Darren Jolly (224 games, 2001 Rookie Draft), Martin Mattner (211 games, 2002 Rookie Draft).

The Suns are ranked fourth in contested marks over the past three rounds (13.3 average). This is well above their season average of 10.0 - ranked equal-15th.

Win should earn respect, says Lynch - AFL.com.au
GOLD Coast forward Tom Lynch hopes Saturday night's shock win over Carlton earns the battling Suns some respect among AFL ranks. Despite a crippling injury toll that saw 20 players on the sidelines, Gold Coast sprung the surprise of the season at Metricon Stadium.
