Veteran Michael Doughty is poised to achieve another milestone before the end of his stellar career next month.

Last week, Doughty announced he would hang up the boots at the end of the Crows’ season.

He underlined his value to the Adelaide team against Melbourne last weekend, collecting 17 possessions (11 contested) and effecting a team-high six spoils.

On Saturday afternoon, the 33-year-old will move into equal-sixth spot for the most games by a player, who originally started their career on a rookie list.

The retiring defender will equal former Melbourne forward Russell Robertson on 228 games.The late-maturing South Adelaide junior was selected by Adelaide with pick No.4 in the Rookie Draft of December 1999, and promoted to the senior list the following season.
