McLeod and Shirley aim for Grand Final glory
Two former Crows will be playing for a spot in the NEAFL Grand Final when their respective teams do battle in two different conferences this weekend.
Andrew McLeod’s Northern Territory Thunder take on Morningside in the NEAFL northern conference.
McLeod has played five qualifying round matches, two Foxtel Cup matches and one NEAFL final for the Thunder this season.
The Sydney Swans reserves and Ainslie will be playing in the eastern conference Grand Final at Manuka Oval in Canberra on Saturday with former Crows midfielder Robert Shirley in action.
Shirley is in his second year at Canberra club Ainslie after helping them to last year’s ACTAFL Premiership while also winning the league’s best and fairest award, the Mulrooney Medal.
The two winning teams from each conference will progress through to the first ever NEAFL Grand Final which will be played in Brisbane, Alice Springs or Sydney, depending on results.
