March 2, 1991: Adelaide came from behind to win its Foster’s Cup quarter-final against St Kilda by 10 points at Waverley Park.

Adelaide didn’t kick a goal in the first term and trailed by 14 points at the last change but kicked ahead in an exciting last quarter to advance to the semi-finals.

John Klug kicked three goals to be one of the stars of Adelaide’s first game in Melbourne and Glenelg veteran David Marshall, Andrew Jarman, Tony McGuinness and Matthew Kelly were also rated highly in reports.

Mike Sheahan wrote in the Sunday Age: “The South Australian Crows may be the new boys on the football block by they proved they will make their presence felt in the big league this year.”

This year the Adelaide Football Club celebrates the 20th anniversary of its first AFL game for premiership points when it plays Hawthorn in the opening round - two decades after the Crows thumped Hawthorn by 86 points at Football Park.
