Adelaide captain Mark Ricciuto’s chances of playing any finals football are still clouded despite confirmation he has parvovirus B19.Although tests have identified the virus, it is unclear when Ricciuto will be able to resume training. He will be assessed twice weekly with blood tests and specialist attention but must continue to rest until his liver enzyme levels fall to acceptable levels.“It’s a relief to finally know what’s wrong and now I can focus on getting right,” Ricciuto said. “I’d like to thank all our supporters for their best wishes.”Club doctor Brian Sando said it was too early to say if Ricciuto would be able to play in the finals.“The answer is that we don’t know,” he said. “But the positive news is that Mark now knows what the problem is.”Ricciuto missed Sunday’s Showdown after falling ill on Saturday during training.Parvovirus B19 is a virus that commonly infects humans and about 50 per cent of all adults have been infected at some time.
