Kuwarna utility Najwa Allen will play her first game for the season when the side takes on Geelong at GMHBA Stadium on Friday night.
Allen, who was voted into the Crows’ leadership ahead of the 2024 campaign, injured her hamstring in the lead up to Round One and spent the past eight weeks on the sidelines.
But after getting through last week’s scrimmage unscathed, Allen has been named in the side that will travel to Geelong.
Keeley Kustermann has also earned a recall after missing the loss to North Melbourne with ankle soreness.
Kuwarna Head of Women’s Football Phil Harper said Allen would be a welcomed addition to the team, as it looks to bounce back from last week’s loss to ladder-leaders North Melbourne.
“Naj got through the (scrimmage) game well and we really think she can add to our side,” Harper said.
“She can play on all three lines (forward, midfield and back).
“Naj brings leadership with her voice and knowledge of the game, which is another reason why we wanted to bring her in.
“We gave Keeley a rest last week because of her sore ankle but she’s moving a lot better and we think the wide open space at Geelong will suit her game.”
Small forward Jess Waterhouse and Irish recruit Amy Boyle Carr have been omitted.
Lily Tarlinton, Abbie Ballard and Deni Varnhagen have been named as the emergencies.
The match will mark utility Maddi Newman’s 50th milestone.
Kuwarna takes on Geelong at GMHBA Stadium this Friday at 6.45pm (ACDT).
The game will be broadcast live on 7two (Adelaide), Kayo and Fox Footy from 6.30pm.
