Taylor Walker took teammates Bernie Vince and Ian Callinan back to his hometown of Broken Hill this week.
The Crows trio were a hit amongst the locals, as they took part in school visits, a coaching clinic and a football night at Walker’s junior club, North Broken Hill.
The players visited Morgan Street School and Broken Hill North Public School, where former student Walker picked himself out of an old class photo.
More than 200 kids turned out to Jubilee Oval for a coaching clinic put on by the players and Crows staff. A similar number of patrons were involved in a Q&A session and auction of sporting memorabilia on Tuesday evening. The event raised more than $3,000.
Walker said he was pleased to be able to give back to the local community.
"I think it's really important to not forget where you came from and try to put back as much as you can into junior footy, that's the reason why we come up here and it's really good to see how many kids we got smiling.”
Crows players will be out on the community again on Thursday, training at Pembroke School and visiting football clubs throughout metropolitan Adelaide in the evening.
