Neil Craig's satisfaction in securing Adelaide's tenth win of the season has been tempered somewhat by another worrying fade-out that saw Hawthorn outscore the Crows five goals to nil in the last quarter of Sunday's match in Launceston.

Adelaide barely held off fast-finishing Fremantle last week and hung on to register a 10-point win at Aurora Stadium, but the Crows have some questions to answer after being outscored by 68 points to nine in their two final terms over the past two rounds.

Craig admitted his concern at the second Crows' fade-out in a fortnight and wasn't trying to deflect attention from the issue after the match.

"It certainly needs to be addressed and we've started to do that after the game and we'll continue to do it," Craig said.

"We don't want to shy away from it because it's there, but having said that the two sides (Fremantle and Hawthorn) we've played have got a fantastic capacity to score very quickly and that's something we need to take on board.

"We're not sitting here as a club saying, 'don't worry about it', we need to do it better if we're going to be any good in the future."

Despite the worrying trend, Craig was pleased to get the points and underlined the significance of the result to the club

"It was a really, really important day for us to get the result that we did, so let's give that a tick," he said.

"It's not easy to come down here where our record's been love-and-two and Hawthorn do play here a bit and it's another away-game win for us, which is important, so I think there is a lot of positives."

Craig must now ascertain whether the Crows' final-term issues are physical or mental and said he wouldn't be afraid to try new things to break the trend.

"We've got to continue to have the courage to try new things in the season-proper," he said.

"We won't be sitting on our hands until pre-season to try it, we've got to have the courage to do it (now) and we'll get some pain with that.

"If it is a conditioning problem it'll be relatively easy to fix - we're not that far off from the level required."
