Adelaide could be in the rare position of having every listed player available to play this weekend.

Ben Rutten, who had foot surgery early last month, is back in full training and may be cleared to return to the field while Richard Douglas (hamstring tightness) is also hoping to return to full training this week.

Adelaide can play only 22 players in Saturday night’s NAB Cup grand final against West Coast at AAMI Stadium, six less than the number used in last Friday night’s win over Collingwood.

Coach Brenton Sanderson said the experience of playing in the pre-season grand final against a strong team would be invaluable.

“We are playing to win, definitely, so it will be a great test of everything the players have been trying to learn over the pre-season,” he said.

“But we won’t take any risks with players. Dropping back to 22 (three interchange and a sub) as well as playing normal game time will be a challenge as it is, so we can’t really take in players who aren’t fit.

“Now we also want and need our fans to come along on Saturday night and get behind us.”

The Crows had a light skills session this morning and will have a closed main session on Wednesday.

The next opportunity for fans to watch training will be from 10.30am on Friday at Max Basheer Reserve.
