Former Central District defender Paul Marschall will make his first appearance for Adelaide’s SANFL team this Friday night against Glenelg.
Marschall, 21, was named in the 2012 Advertiser SANFL Team of the Year, but walked away from league football last season to focus on work commitments. He played some football for his local club South Gawler in 2013.
West Adelaide prospect Jye De Zylva and Mannum utility Michael O’Malley are set to join Marschall for their first games with Adelaide’s State League side.
Taylor Walker will also make his debut appearance for the SANFL Crows in his first competitive match in 12 months.
Adelaide’s SANFL team will be confirmed following final AFL selection tomorrow afternoon.
Friday night’s clash at Glenelg Oval, which kicks off at 7.10pm, will be the first time that Adelaide has competed on ANZAC Day at any level.
Crows State League coach Heath Younie said the team was eager to carry its winning momentum after last week’s breakthrough victory over Central District.
“It (the win) was terrific, especially for the players,” Younie said.
“We had some terrific efforts individually, but more importantly as a group we played well.
“We have had to move on quickly with a six-day break going into ANZAC Day. It’s fantastic for our footy club to be able to participate on that day.”
“Hopefully, there will be a big crowd there.”
In the other SANFL round four games, 2013 grand finalists Norwood and North Adelaide clash at Adelaide Oval on Friday afternoon; Port play West at Alberton and Central host South on Saturday afternoon; and unbeaten Sturt is at home against the Eagles on Sunday.
Crows ticketed members receive free entry to the Glenelg Oval clash and the game will also be broadcast live on radio station Life FM.
