KURT Tippett's potential has always excited Adelaide fans, but the way he made good on that promise against Essendon was more than many could have hoped for.

The 22-year-old booted seven goals and took a towering contender for mark of the year in a command performance in the 16-point win, but the man himself wasn't getting too carried away.

"It was certainly my best return in terms of goals, I'm not sure if it was my best game, but I'm pretty happy to kick a few goals," Tippett said.

"The first couple of shots are really important for your confidence. We’ve been doing a lot of work on our goal kicking so I have been feeling a lot more confident in front of goals, but it was great to put that on the score board today.

"There have been a fair few kicks over the summer, some good coaching from the guys as well as the help of the fellas out there kicking them back to me at training. All of that really paid off today."

Tippett was delighted to have been a key contributor in Tyson Edwards' 300th game milestone.

"Today was Tyson's day and it's really great to win it for him," he said.

"We were in a tough contest all day and we knew we had to put in the effort right up to the final siren. That gives us great confidence … and it's really fitting for Tyson to have a win in his 300th."

The Crows registered their highest score of the season with a very accurate 21.4 which is a reflection of the work that Neil Craig has done on tweaking the game plan to move the ball quicker into the forward line.

"I think the whole forward line is coming together really well due to a lot of hard work by the whole team," Tippett said.

"Hopefully we can keep the pressure on each other as well as other sides and one of us forwards will have a good day each week.

"We take an attacking sort of mindset at every contest whether it's a centre bounce, a ball up or a kick-in – we take it as an opportunity to score. That mindset has really helped with the ball movement inside 50 and really helps us forwards out."
