Crows listed midfielder Brad Symes has won the SANFL’s Magarey Medal, tying with South Adelaide’s Joel Cross.

Central District’s Symes and Cross both polled 18 votes in the count on Monday night to finish two votes clear of former Crow, West Adelaide’s Chris Schmidt.

But a late-season striking report proved costly for Symes’ Central team-mate James Boyd, who polled 26 votes but was ineligible to win the competition’s best and fairest medal.

Symes, 27, has played two AFL games this season for a total of 80 with Port and the Crows.
