Cyclist Jack Bobridge won a silver medal last night in London.

Bobridge was part of the Australian team pursuit team beaten by the world-record breaking Great Britain combination in the final.

Australia finished in 3 mins 54.581 seconds, well behind the host team’s record 3 minutes 51.659 seconds.

‘‘For the past four years we have had one goal in mind and that was to come here and stand on top of the podium and win,’’ Bodridge said after the final.

‘‘We have done everything right - yesterday and today. We rode perfect as a team and left everything out there. But at the end of the day we are stoked to be able to walk away with a silver medal.

“You can’t be too disappointed when someone beats you who does a world record.’’

Lleyton Hewitt will team with Sam Stosur tonight in a quarter final of the mixed doubles tennis.
