Tippett expected to return
Adelaide expects key forward Kurt Tippett to be available to play Hawthorn in Berri on Saturday.
Tippett has not played against Geelong or West Coast in the past fortnight to rest a sore knee but he should be cleared to train with the main group this week.
Richard Douglas (hip) may also be ready to return to football this weekend and 2008 draftee Phil Davis, who had shoulder surgery last May, made his return in North Adelaide’s internal trial on Friday night.
Graham Johncock suffered a corked calf in Friday night’s game in Alice Springs but could still be available for the Berri trip. Aaron Kite has been cleared of serious knee damage and will miss two to three weeks with a sprain.
With the opening round clash with Collingwood now less than four weeks away, the Crows are hoping Ben Rutten (knee), Jason Porplyzia (shoulder), Brad Symes (wrist/thumb) and possibly Nathan van Berlo will be ready for some matches before the season.
