Maric verdict stands
THE TRIBUNAL has found Adelaide ruckman Ivan Maric guilty of making negligent and high contact with Fremantle's Michael Walters during Saturday's game at AAMI S
Maric was reported by field umpire Dean Margetts after the incident, which occurred during the final quarter and ended with Walters lying on the ground, holding his head.
He was subsequently offered a reprimand and 70.31 demerit points by the match review panel.
Maric chose to contest the charge and told the tribunal that he was simply trying to win the ball when he collided with Walters.
But after an hour-long hearing, which Maric addressed via a video link from Adelaide, the tribunal upheld the match review panel's finding.
The 25-year-old remains free to play in this weekend's Showdown against Port Adelaide
