Coach Brenton Sanderson has declared Rory Sloane a certain starter against Gold Coast on Saturday.

Sloane missed the clash with Melbourne last weekend because of an elbow complaint, but completed training on Wednesday and is ready to resume at AAMI Stadium in the Club’s last minor-round match of the season.

“Rory is fine. He’ll certainly play, which is good news for us. It was touch and go last week, but I think we made the right call,” Sanderson said on Wednesday.

“He’s got a bit of tendonitis through his elbow, which has been troubling him for a couple of weeks. His effectiveness to tackle was the main issue, but he passed a couple of those tests today, so he’ll be fine to play.”

Ricky Henderson (ankle) and Andy Otten (knee) also joined in main training for the first time in their recovery from injury on Wednesday. The pair is likely to return in the SANFL this week.Henderson could line-up with the lowest-ranked reserves team because Central District has the bye.

“Hendo and Otto both trained really well today. And Brodie Martin (hamstring) returned with Sturt last weekend as well, so it’s good to have those guys back and ready to play,” Sanderson said.

“We’ve almost got a full squad together heading into our finals campaign.”
