Rory Sloane has been rated by his peers amongst the competition’s elite in a survey conducted by the AFL.

Sloane ranked No.36 in the AFL Players’ Top 50 list, which compiled votes from every player in the competition.

Since debuting with Adelaide in Round 20 of 2009, where he had six handballs, laid seven tackles but famously failed to register a kick, Sloane has quickly become a mainstay in the Crows’ midfield.

The 2013 Crows Club Champion, who turned 24 on Monday, averaged 23 possessions and four tackles per game last season and polled a career-best 15 votes in last year’s Brownlow Medal count.

Sloane’s leadership qualities have also blossomed in recent years, with the courageous Crow selected as a joint vice-captain alongside Patrick Dangerfield for 2014.

The golden-haired warrior remains one of the most reliable and durable players at the Club, missing just two AFL games since Round Seven of the 2011 season.
