Bryce Campbell bounced back to top form with a best afield effort for Norwood in the SANFL on Saturday.

The tough midfielder, who injured an ankle in the round four AFL game against Hawthorn and was out of action until last week, had 30 possessions for Norwood in its win over North Adelaide. He worked hard inside the packs and also provided good run for the Redlegs.

Eighteen-year-old draftee Aaron Kite was also impressive for Norwood playing at centre half-back against AFL-listed Damon White. He had a dozen possessions and was named in the club’s best players. Taylor Walker kicked one goal from seven possessions.

In the same game, forward Nick Gill kicked one goal in his first league game for the season.

Andy Otten continued to perform for South Adelaide, which was crushed by Glenelg. He had 21 possessions playing as a midfielder changing across half-forward.

James Sellar played about half of the game off the bench. He had six possessions, six hit-outs and kicked 1.2.

Of the group playing in the reserves, North Adelaide’s Tony Armstrong stood out with a 25-possession effort as a wingman. Rookie Ed Curnow played well in defence for Glenelg and was named among the best and Brodie Martin was solid for Sturt.

Two Crows also played for Woodville-West Torrens in a trial game against the SA under-18 side. Trent Hentschel was steady at centre half back and played the full game while rookie Jared Petrenko was restricted after copping a corked thigh early in the match.
