Adelaide will contest ruckman Ivan Maric's rough conduct charge at a tribunal hearing in Melbourne tonight.

Maric has pleaded not guilty to a Level One offence for engaging in rough conduct against Fremantle’s Michael Walters during the fourth quarter of Saturday’s match at AAMI Stadium.

In summary, his five-year good record means that he can accept a reprimand and 70.31 points towards his future record with an early plea.

The incident was assessed as negligent conduct (one point), low impact (one point) and high contact (two points). This is a total of four activation points, resulting in a classification of a Level One offence, drawing 125 demerit points and a one-match sanction.

Ivan has an existing five-year good record, which reduces the penalty by 25 per cent to a reprimand and 93.75 points towards his future record. An early plea reduces the penalty by 25 per cent to a reprimand and 70.31 points towards his future record.

Contact between the Crows' Richard Tambling and Fremantle's Aaron Sandilands from the third quarter of Saturday's match was assessed. Sandilands was in the process of marking the ball when Tambling attempted to spoil.

It was the view of the match review panel that it was a legitimate attempt to spoil and the high contact was accidental. No further action was taken.
