Crows fans share some of their memories of the first game against Hawthorn...

Christine Ball: Had been a Hawks supporter for years, so was in a dilemma who to barrack for, that is until the Crows rang onto the ground and my passion for the red blue and yellow was born

Shirley Budd: I remember how great it was and I am still in the same seat, thanks for all the great footy days and many more to come.

Jay Smart: Well it would have to be my brother Nigel taking a spectacular mark over Jason Dunstall. We have the photo of it, just awesome.

Matthew John Hein: I was at speedway park for a youth group function - the voiceover guy was giving updates on the game, Dermott Brereton was the villain of the night, Darren Jarman should have been in a Crows guernsey and the crows flogged them by 86 points.

Kathryn Saunders: I was holding the rear rope of that banner .. that was an incredible game...

Paul Ryan: Can't believe that was 20 years ago. Still remember that night like I was yesterday.

Wendy Noble: I can't believe it's been 20 years! Wow. I was so proud to have an Adelaide team in the comp.

Jason Mackay: I remember Chris McDermott getting crunched by Brereton and that firing up the mighty Crows even more.

Trevor Rice: Felt so proud being an x pat Sth Aussie living in Vic and beating any Vic team (Hawthorn), proud to be a Sth Aussie.

Peter Richardson: I was at the game listening to the call on the radio through my headphones. I remember David Hookes saying "I'm booking my trip to the grand final" when it was clear how good the Crows looked, thrashing the Hawks the way they did.

Ben Dieckmann: I was there. Had been a Hawthorn supporter up until then, but after that night was hooked on the Crows. I was a mad keen Bays man though. I think we had half the team and the coach back then.

Jimmy Cheno: It was the match that got me hooked!!! The rest is history!!! GO CROWS in 2011.

Sasha Smith: I was 12 and we were going to Perth (driving) from Melbourne and my dad is a Hawthorn supporter stopped off at AAMI to get a record and I went in with him.

Marilyn Falahey: I was there .. can't remember much except being amazed we beat the Hawks .. still a mad Crow supporter .. go Crows!

Paul Corfiatis: Yes! - The good old days of tight shorts, mullets, and amazing marks. And the Hawks won the premiership that year. making this win even sweeter.

Paul Eckersley: I remember the roar from the crowd as the Crows entered the stadium, which sent shivers down my spine

Nick Bowles: I remember making that banner and holding it up on the field. The noise that banner generated was incredible. It was a truly amazing night and one I won't ever forget. I still have the video (yes video!!) of the game!
