Dance team farewell 2006
The Crows Coca-Cola Dance Team will take to the field for the last time this season before Saturday's Melbourne clash.
Vanessa Nilsson from Diva Productions said that the girls are disappointed that their season has to end after Round 22.
“The girls would have loved the opportunity to perform at a Crows home final, it would have been fantastic,” she said. “However, due to the decision made by the AFL this is not possible. At least they got to enjoy the minor round matches.”
The Coca-Cola Dance Team are the last “cheerleaders” remaining in the AFL, performing on AAMI Stadium before each Crows match in the home and away season. According to Vanessa, the girls enjoy this rare opportunity.
“The girls always enjoy performing in front of the big home crowd and enjoy the support they get,” she said. “It’s always nice when the team is winning games as well! The 2006 season has run very smoothly for the Coca-Cola Dance Team.”
The final performance will be a special occasion, with 28 girls taking part in the routine. The Coca-Cola Dance Team will be joined by their “junior” girls, who will get their first opportunity to perform on AAMI Stadium. The girls will be performing a routine to a remix of Leo Sayer’s “Thunder in my Heart”.
