Myke Cook started on the bench for South Adelaide and struggled in the first half before switching to half back, where he picked up 20 possessions, broke the lines with his run and carry, and blanketed his opponent.

Jake von Bertouch (15 possessions) made the most of limited opportunities as a forward and Sam Martyn had 17 disposals off a wing. Sam Shaw, returning from long-term injuries, had 18 possessions at half back or wing. Will Young (Norwood) hurt a knee and will miss at least a month.
