Rookie Ben Dowdell was among the winners at the annual Drummond Golf Crows Classic held at the pristine Glenelg Golf Club, the official golf club of the Crows, last Friday.

Playing off a handicap of 18, Dowdell was one of five recipients of ‘Nearest to Pin’ honours.

Keen golfers Brent Reilly (handicap seven) and Jarryd Lyons (handicap 10), Taylor Walker, Ian Callinan, Andy Otten, Josh Jenkins, coach Brenton Sanderson and Dr Andrew Potter also took part.

The Amcor team won the tournament, which was played under Ambrose rules, ahead of teams from Northpoint Toyota, Palletco, Minter Ellison and Rinnai. The other Nearest to Pin winners were Andrew Cosh (Minter Ellison), Phil Doyle (Coca Cola) and Stephen Walker (St Andrews Hospital), while the longest drive went to David Rogers of Tempur Australia.
